Legal & General Property (LGP) has appointed Neil Crawford as retail development manager, in a move aimed at strengthening its in-house development and asset management expertise.
The unit is also recruiting for a second role, head of retail, reporting directly to Mike Barrie, director of fund management.
Mr Crawford joins from Hammerson where he has been a development manger for the last four years, having previously worked at Wilson Bowden Developments.
According to LGP, its sector specialisms cross the real estate market are a key differentiator from its peer group, allowing it to provide clients with a fully integrated fund platform with in-depth market knowledge.
The development team is currently progressing major town-centre retail and leisure regeneration projects in Bracknell, Eastbourne, Hounslow and Trowbridge, as well as a number of other add-value projects across its portfolio.
Bill Hughes, LGP’s managing director, comments: “As with the majority of our appointments over the last five years, we continue to handpick talented recruits from areas outside of the traditional fund management arena, favouring prop-cos and leading agencies for sourcing individuals whose skill sets complement and further deepen the existing wealth of in-house expertise that we hold across the platform.”
